Four civilians embrace shahadat, six Indian soldiers killed in retaliatory fire

RAWALPINDI: At least four civilians including a woman embraced shahdat and ten others sustained injuries along the Line of Control (LoC) following unprovoked firing by the Indian troops on Monday while six Indian soldiers were killed following retaliatory fire by the Pakistani troops across the LoC. 

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), those who embraced martyrdom were identified as Nazia Kausar wife of M.Rasheed resident of village Gai Mathrani at Karela sector, Irfan sonof Lal Muhammad village Jabbar Dheri at Jandrot sector, Atique sonof Manzoor and Taswar son of Shabbir both residents of village Barohat Baroh Sector.

The reports from across the LoC revealed that the Indian troops suffered heavy losses due to retaliatory fire by Pakistani troops. Six soldiers have been confirmed killed till now.

Earlier, it was reported that at least five houses were damaged in Indian firing and shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday morning.

According to reports, Indian forces targeted civilian settlements in Tarkandi, Dator, Lanjot, Dabsi Mohra, Nargal, Sakakas and Pilani areas of Nakyal sector at around 8:

The authorities also closed girls and boys degree colleges and declared emergency at the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital. Additional ambulances have also been deployed in the areas close to the LoC.
