Five killed, six injured in firing incident in Karachi’s Nazimabad area

As many as four people were killed and six others injured in firing incident near Larosh Restaurant in Nazimabad area here on Saturday, police and hospital official said.

They said that those who expired in the firing by unidentified armed men were: Abbas Nayyer Medhi, Muhammad Zaki, Syed Nasir and Nadeem.

Those who were injured in the firing were: Tahir Abbas, Asad, Murtaza Ali, Baqir, Ms Fatima and Ms. Shabana.

Meanwhile, a statement issued from the Governor House said that Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan, has taken notice of the firing on a `Majlis’ in Nazimabad area.

It said that he has sought report from Commissioner Karachi and Additional IG into the incident.

Governor directed that the injured be provided with the best possible treatment. On the other and President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned attack killing innocent people in Nazimabad, Karachi and directed the authorities concerned at the federal and provincial levels to hunt down the culprits immediately. Expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives during the attack, the Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and courage to the bereaved families to bear the loss. He prayed for swift recovery of those injured during the attack.

“This heinous attack will not go unpunished. We will not allow terrorists to disturb peace in Karachi. The perpetrators do not deserve mercy and they will be brought to task sooner,” he said.—APP
