Federal government extends Rangers exclusive powers

ISLAMABAD: Federal government on Tuesday extended Rangers’ exclusive powers for 60 days in Sindh.

Interior ministry has extended Ranges exclusive powers under anti terrorism act. Now Rangers authorized to take any suspect into custody for 90 days with any approval of any authority and can hold raids at anywhere. A notification in this regard has also been issued by the interior ministry.

Earlier, Interior ministry has rebuffed Sindh government’s summery to curtail Rangers powers.
