Federal Budget 2015-16: Rs4.577 bn allocated for HEC

Pakistan government allocated Rs4.577 billion for schemes running under High Education Commission (HEC) in the Annual Development Programme during announcement of Federal Budget 2015-16 here on Friday.

According to Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for next financial year, Rs100 million would be spent on upgradation of different departments of Punjab University (PU), Rs150 million for UET Taxila, Rs250 million for completion of development work underway in academic block of Hazara University Mansehra.

Rs100 million is allocated for construction of Boys and Girls Hostels in Islamic College University Pesahawar, Rs155.727 million for hostels in King Edward Medical University Lahore, Rs125 million for infrastructure of Lasbela University of Agriculture and Water & Marine Sciences Othal Balochistan.

Five million rupees allocated for development of Khyber Medical University Peshawar, Rs250 million for Lahore campus of Government College University Kala Shah Kaku, Rs100 million for infrastructure of Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar, Rs1.3166 billion for 500 Ph.D. persons, Rs42.7721 million for Ph.D. scholars joined HEC phase ship programme in Balochistan, Rs800 million for overseas scholarships for MS/M.Phil students in different departments while Rs4.5770 for other programmes.
