ECP’s planning committee receives briefing on general elections 2018 preparation

The planning committee meeting of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was held here on Tuesday to brief the participants about the preparation of general elections 2018.

The meeting, which was chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza and attended by four members of ECP, Secretary ECP, Provincial Election Commissioners and other officials, received briefing on preparation of general elections 2018.

The meeting was informed that over 14,000 display centers have been set up across the country for display of voters lists and the process of registration of new vote, correction and exclusion of voters name will continue till April 24.

The committee was also briefed about the election material including ballot papers. It was informed that the provincial governments have been contacted for ensuring provision of facilities to voters particularly women voters in 89,500 polling stations.

The meeting was informed about the updates on results management system and results transmission system while it was apprised that all polling stations have been linked with the goggle map.

It was also informed about the training programme for polling staff including Returning Officers and District Returning Officers while the participants have been apprised that the commission has completed the training of lead trainers.
