NEW YORK: Extract from the olive leaf could possibly be helpful in treating the Type 2 diabetes.

According to a recent study, the olive leaf extract helps balancing out blood sugar in the body.

The study supervised by Professor Abdurrahim Koçyigit was published in the “American Journal of Plant Sciences” last month.

The research reveals that the olive leaves contain antihypertensive, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties and their antihyperglycemic advantages are stronger when in extract as compared to brewed as a tea.
