Current govt turns economy from negative to positive zone: Dar

LAHORE: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that economy of the country has significantly improved due to prudent policy of the Government.

Addressing Income Tax Officers in Lahore today, he said the current Government took the economic problems as a challenge and turned the economy from negative to stable and then positive.

The Minister said world financial institutions have acknowledged the improvement in Pakistan’s economy.

He said Pakistan has the potential to emerge as 18th largest economy by 2050. He said country’s foreign exchange reserves have also improved.

Finance Minister said the Government is working on various energy projects and ten thousand MW of electricity will be added to the national grid till March 2018.

He said in addition they are working on fourteen thousand MW energy projects under Medium Term plan and it will help in overcoming energy shortage.
