FAISALABAD: The agriculture experts have advised growers to immediately start cultivation of cotton and complete it before mid May to get bumper yield.
A spokesman for the agriculture department said here on Thursday that farmers should cultivate certified cotton seeds over maximum space.
He recommended cotton variety IR-3701 for cultivation in rich fertile areas like Bahawalpur, Raheem Yar Khan, MG-6 for Muzaffar Garh and Bahawal Nagar, Sitara-008 for Khanewal,
Multan, Vehari and Lodhran, Ali Akbar-802 for medium lands, IR-1524 for weak lands and water scarcity areas of south Punjab, Torjan-1 for fertile areas, MNH-886 for moderate fertile lands and A-555 for virus affected areas.
