SRINAGAR: Kashmiris have observed complete shutter down strikes across Indian-occupied Jammu Kashmir against arrest and house detention of Hurriyat leaders by Indian administration.

Kashmiris were observing complete shutter-down strike over call of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) octogenarian leader Syed Ali Geelani against oppression of Indian government.

Indian forces had arrested Hurriyat leader Musarat Alam on Friday over charges of hoisting Pakistani flag and chanting pro-Pakistan slogans on Thursday in a rally while Syed Ali Geelani was kept under house arrest.

On Friday, Indian police resorted to indiscriminate firing and tear gas shelling against protestors of the rally led-by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, which was taken out in Tral, Srinagar against the leaders’ detention.

Meanwhile, Musrat Alam has been sent to jail for seven days remand by Indian police.
