Chinese President address to joint session of Parliament today

ISLAMABAD:  Chinese President Xi Jinping  will address joint session of the Parliament on Tuesday (today) and for the purpose parliament secretariat has issued instructions of members of Parliament.

According to the schedule, the Chinese President will address the joint session of Parliament at 9:45 am  and he will reach to the Parliament at 9:OO am.

The joint session of the parliament will commence at 9:25 am.

All members of the parliament have been directed to reach the parliament before 8:30 am. After given time on security reasons all the gates of the parliament will be closed.

President Xi Jinping’s address will be followed by Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Earlier on Tuesday (yesterday) Pakistan and China signed 14 power projects of 8370 Mega Watt in a ceremony held in Prime Minister house, Islamabad. Chinese companies will invest 18 billion dollars investment in different projects,  here in Pakistan.

Ministry of  Water & Power and Chinese companies signed 1320 MW Port Qasim Coal project, 660 MW Hubco power project, 1320 Thar coal block, 660MW Sindh Engro ,  870MW Sukhi Kenari wind project, 720 MW Karoth  project, 100MW UEP wind project, , 50 MW Dado Hydro China project , 50MW Sachal Wind project, 1320 MW Sahiwal  project, 300 MW Sahil Coal project, 1000 MW Quaid-i-Azam Solar Power Park and Matiari to Lahore and Faisalabad transmission line projects.

Six coal energy projects, Three wind power and two solar energy projects were also signed. The seven energy projects belong to Sindh, five to Punjab, one belong to KPK and one from Azad Kashmir.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chinese President Xi Jinping  have inaugurated five power projects through video link.
