BEIJING: China on Monday closed one of its makeshift hospitals built to deal with coronavirus after a sharp decline in new cases.

According to Chinese state-run CCTV, the makeshift hospital in China’s central Hubei province had been closed after the discharge of the last patient at the health facility.

About 196 confirmed cases had emerged in Hubei province on Sunday, the country’s National Health Commission says today. Earlier, around 570 cases had been daily reported in the province.

China had hurriedly constructed 16 such hospitals to handle the deadly coronavirus epidemic.
