Canadian city evacuated over wildfire

MONTREAL: All 100,000 residents of the Canadian city of Fort McMurray were ordered to leave town late Tuesday as a fire swept through the oil sands region.

“North edge of fire is growing rapidly. All of Fort McMurray is under a mandatory evacuation order,” emergency services announced, noting that the airport was spared from the order.Hours earlier, a more limited alert saw authorities evacuate 30,000 people.
