Can take legal action against NAB: PM Nawaz

Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif lashed out at National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials and said the government can take legal action against them [NAB] if they continue to scare government officials.

Addressing to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) workers in Bahawalpur, Nawaz Sharif said NAB has no right to raid at any official resident without completing its investigation.

NAB is not working properly, he said and added that the officials are raiding at the residences of the innocent without any reason.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed to strengthen and empower the local governments to address the problems faced by the people.

He said the people have pinned great expectations with the local representations and they will fully empowered to serve the masses.

Nawaz Sharif pointed out that the country is faced with multi-dimensional challenges including terrorism and energy crisis. The PM said government is trying its best to provide basic facilities to the masses.

The Prime Minister said government is fully aware about the problems specially energy crises being faced by the masses.

He expressed his firm resolve to overcome the energy problem during the tenure of his government.

The Prime Minister said work on three projects for production of electricity through gas is in progress which will produce three thousand and six hundred megawatts electricity after completion by next year.

He said China is all-weather friend and it is investing massive amount of forty six billion dollars which is biggest in the history of the country.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif further stated that recently government has made an agreement for the purchase of gas costing billions of rupees with Qatar government, which will be provided at concessional rates by Qatar due our brotherly relations.
