The French car manufacturer has unveiled Bugatti Veyron’s successor Bugatti Chiron in honour of legendary race car driver Louis Chiron.

While technical details are sparse, Bugatti claims it will be the ‘world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car.’

This suggests the Chiron will make more power than the 1,500-horsepower Koenigsegg Regera.

The 2016 Regera is set to be able to accelerate to its top speed of 248 mph in less than 20 seconds – faster that any other production car in history.

It claims to be able to do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds

However, currently, the Veyron is the world’s fastest street-legal production car, reaching 0-60mph in only 2.5 seconds.

Selling for around $1.5 million (£1.4 million), Bugatti only made 450 of the exclusive model which was named by Top Gear as ‘car of the decade’.
