Budget 2015: Electronic monitoring introduced in sensitive sectors

 ISLAMABAD: In a bid to avoid  Government of Pakistan has introduced electronic monitoring over sale in different sectors to avoid tax theft.

The electronic monitoring system is proposed to be introduced to monitor the sale of cigarettes, beverages, cement, fertilizer and sugar sector in Budget 2015-16 document.

The move is set to avoid tax theft and bring millions of rupees to the national exchequer in the category of sales tax.

FBR sources say that the department recieved a number of complaints regarding tax theft from these sectors as vendors used to buy raw material from unregistered sectors stealing millions of rupees in tax.

The activity could not be curtailed in the past despite legal action as the culprits took stay order from the courts in many cases.
