ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will contact with Pope Francis and Sheikh of Al-Azhar University on the issue of publication of blasphemous caricatures in France.

This was announced by Religious Affairs Minister Noorul Haq Qadri while speaking to the media here on Wednesday.

The minister said that he would approach the Sheikh of Al-Azhar University to take legal action against those involved in the publication of blasphemous sketches while the prime minister would write a letter to his counterpart for an agreed strategy. The premier will also speak on this issue to the heads of various states, Qadri added.

Western countries including France have been hurting the sentiments of Muslims. What are freedom of expression and restrictions? he questioned.
