Attempt to create rift between Army, people will not be tolerated: COAS

LAHORE: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that any attempt to create a rift between the army and the people will not be tolerated.

According to Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Lahore Garrison where he was received by Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz.

The ISPR said that the Army Chief spoke to the garrison officers and retired officers separately while appreciating the high standard of operational readiness and training of the Lahore Corps.

Talking to officers, the Army Chief said that misinformation and propaganda endangered the integrity of the state.

He said that timely and joint response was required to effectively counter speculation and rumors.

The Army Chief said that any attempt to create a rift between the army and the people would not be tolerated. Enemy forces have been trying for a long time but they will not succeed.

On the other hand, the Army Chief visited CMH Lahore and inquired about the health of Major Harris. According to ISPR, the Army Chief said that the law would take its course in the case of Major Harris and the arrested accused would be brought to justice.
