Seven Taliban killed in foiled attack on parliament: Afghan govt.

KABUL: Afghan government claimed to have killed all seven Taliban involved in attack on the parliament building.

Afghan Interior Ministry Deputy spokesman Najjib Danish said that seven militant attacked on the parliament and security forces killed all of them.

He said that the attack had ended. He said that one of the attackers exploded his car near the parliament building and six others were gunned down by security forces after they entered a nearby building. He said that at least 15 civilians were also injured in the attack.

Kabul police spokesman Ebadullah Karimi said that first a car bomb detonated on the main road near the parliament building then a group of attackers entered a building in front of parliament.

MP Mohammad Reza Khoshak said, “The session was on and we were waiting for the defense minister nominee, suddenly we heard a loud explosion, followed by several other smaller explosions,”.
