A man was dead and and at least six others were injured in an explosion in generator market located in New Chali neighbourhood, Karachi’s key commercial area.
Sources said that the blast took place in a shop near HBL Tower located in New Chali area. The explosion was heard from far distances. The building housing the shop collapsed after the blast and also caught fire. As a result, one person was dead and six injured. Condition of two of the injured is stated to be critical.
Rescue sources suspected that incident was caused by a cylinder blast.
Police and rescue services arrived at the site of blast and shifted the injured to hospital.
