ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) has conducted 21 countrywide operations and recovered 5842.75 Kg Hashish, 29.286 Kg Heroin, 3.6 Kg Opium, 0.150 Kg Amphetamine and 0.380 Kg (770 tablets) Ecstasy.
ANF arrested 29 drug traffickers and seized 6 vehicles suring operations. Most of the recovered drugs were being smuggled for local consumption.
The value of narcotics is Rs 3.7 billion in international market.
According to details, ANF Balochistan seized 5800 Kg Hashish Garda from Killi Norak Salman Khel, Tehsil Gulistan, Qilla Abdullah. The consignment was in transit, for handing over to next gang.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested accused namely Muhammad Younis resident of Gujrat at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 10.376 Kg Heroin concealed in his trolley bag.
The accused intended to fly for Italy by Qatar Airways flight No QR-615. In another operation ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler namely Abdul Ghafar resident of Sheikhupura from Hashmi Green Cafe, Service Road, G-11, near Golra More, Islamabad and recovered 1.2 kg Hashish from personal possession of the accused.
During 3rd operation ANF Rawalpindi arrested an accused namely Kausar Abbas resident of Khushab at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 2.750 kg Hashish and 150 Gram
Amphetamine concealed in his trolley bag. In its 4th operation ANF Rawalpindi Airport team arrested an accused namely Muhammad Shahbaz resident of Khusab and recovered 1Kg Heroin.
He was traveling from Islamabad to Riyadh. In 5th operation ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler namely Ghulam Shabbir resident of Attock and recovered 0.500 Kg Hashish from personal possession of the accused. In 6th operation ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki FX Car near parking area A-Mahroof Hospital, F- 10 Markaz, Islamabad and recovered 770x Ecstasy Tabs (0.380 kg). 2x
Accused namely Muhammad Afzal resident of Chakwal and Abdullah resident Charsadda arrested. ANF Peshawar arrested a person namely Hazarat Ali resident of Khyber Agency near Sheno Pump, Faqirabad, Mattani, Kohat Road, Peshawar and recovered 10 Kgs Hashish from personal possession of the accused.
In another operation ANF Peshawar intercepted a Suzuki Pickup near Karkhano Market, Jamrud Road, Peshawar and recovered 6 Kgs Hashish concealed in it. The accused Sarfraz Khan resident of Peshawar has been arrested at the spot.
ANF Lahore intercepted a Suzuki Margalla Car near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Faisalabad and recovered 9.6 Kg Hashish from the secret cavities of the said car.
Person namely Muhammad Tanveer resident of Islamabad arrested at the spot. During another operation, ANF Lahore carried out an intelligence based operation near Ramay Chowk, Fort Abbas, Bahawalnagar and arrested 4x persons namely Muhammad Fayyaz, Maqbool Masih and Muhammad Asghar all resident of Bahawalnagar and Muhammad Qaisar resident of Lahore.
Detailed search of the culprits resulted in recovery of 7.700 Kg Heroin. In 3rd operation, ANF Lahore recovered 0.560 Kg Heroin from a parcel being sent to UK, through DHL Office Lahore. Heroin was concealed in 2x Tea Thermoses.
ANF Karachi recovered 0.150 Kg Heroin from a parcel being sent to Canada, through TCS Sub Office Karachi. Heroin was concealed in 10x jeans pants. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations and further investigations are underway.
