Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) has sent notices to local television channels over violating of code of conduct by coverage of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) supremo Altaf Hussain.

Despite imposition of ban, a wide-scale television coverage had been made by the local news channels when Altaf Hussain was presented before the Scotland Yard in London on October 5, 2015.

The legal notice stated that violation of judicial orders are tantamount to contempt of court action.

PEMRA authorities warned TV channels to ensure full implementation of the judicial orders that imposed strict ban on coverage of Altaf Hussain.

On the other hand, the Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned PEMRA chairman on October 16, 2015.
