Alkhidmat distributes hygiene kits among prisoners at Central Jail

KARACHI: Alkhidmat Karachi recently distributed hygiene kits to detainees in Karachi Central Jail. Along with this, an inmate was also fitted with an artificial leg on the request of the jail authorities. Made using the latest technology, this artificial leg was fitted by the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dow University of Health Sciences. Dr. Faseeh and Dr. Waseem were involved in this procedure on Alkhidmat’s behalf, while Manzar Alam, Senior Manager Alkhidmat Karachi was also present.

Later, a ceremony was organized by Alkhidmat in which hygiene kits were distributed to the inmates of the prison, which included a towel, soap, shampoo, talcum powder, toothpaste, nail cutter and similar items of hygiene. Jail Superintendent Muhammad Hasan Suhto lauded Alhidmat’s initiatives in the prison as well as in society, and assured that inmates were being educated about the importance of hygiene on a regular basis. He also appreciated and thanked Allhidmat for fitting the artificial leg to the said detainee. Speaking on the occasion, Director Community Services Alkhidmat Karachi Qazi Sayyed Sadruddeen said that Alkhidmat was striving for the welfare and uplift of the weaker sections of society.

He mentioned the Computer and Language Center run by Alkhidmat in the jail which was an effort to impart relevant education to detainees that would help them earn a respectable income later on their release. He reiterated that Alkhidmat was concerned with the health of inmates which was the reason of distributing the hygiene kits.
