Alkhidmat distributes Eidi, hosts Iftar dinner for children registered with Agosh orphanage

KARACHI: Alkhidmat has distributed Eidi among orphans registered with its Agosh project to double their joys of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The cash Eidi was distributed at a graceful Iftar dinner ceremony held at Alkhidmat’s head office in the honour of the group of children.

These children will be shifted to Agosh Home, Gulshan e Memar- a residential facility of Alkhidmat for orphans. The charity organization will bear the cost of their accommodation, education, entertainment and other activities.

Alkhidmat Chief Executive Naveed Baig while addressing mothers at the ceremony hailed their role as a mother in the absence of the children’ s respective fathers. He said it is a big disaster for anyone to lose his or her father. In such a situation, the role of mothers becomes more crucial. He asked them to focus on the character building of the children and assured them of Alkhidmat’s cooperation in every possible aspect.

Baig said that Alkhidmat takes care of more than 14,000 orphans across Pakistan and more than 1170 alone in Karachi.

He said that Alkhidmat spends Rs4,000 per month on an orphan and Rs48,000 per year. He added that apart from that the organization also designs a large number of activities throughout the year for mental, emotional and physical well-being of the children.

Alkhidmat Executive Director Rashid Qureshi, Resource Mobilization Manager Enayatullah Ismael, Orphan Care Program head Farooq Kamlani, Director Community Services Qazi Sadruddin, Dr Iqbal and others also addressed the ceremony and interacted with the participants of the ceremony.
