Al-Khidmat volunteers’ public help unmatched: Hafiz Naeem

Karachi: Al-Khidmat volunteers untiringly served monsoon and coronavirus endemic effectees beyond any prejudice and without harming their self respect, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman eulogised.

Addressing ‘Salam Raza Convention’ held at a local hall, he said that during natural calamity, government and its welfare departments performance was exposed and World Bank funds given for the purpose not reached to the people.

On the other hand, even political parties in the government did nothing for people when Karachi was submerged in rainwater, he deplored

Hafiz Naeem said that there is no match to welfare work carried out by volunteers and we are here to praise their devotion toward their selfless endeavours.

Chief Executive Alkhidmat, Naveed Ali Baig said that our volunteers are committed to serve people and their past deeds are example.

He informed audience that coronavirus test facility is available at Alkhidmat Codo-Laboratory on affordable charges and there is a plan to set up 10 more disaster and relief centres in parts of city.

Assistant Director, Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Maqsood Soomro on the occasion said that Alkhidmat people-oriented welfare activities are exemplary and we are grateful to them.

Alkhidmat’s Sabir Ahmad informed that public welfare work by Alkhidmat during Covid-19 and rains were also praised during a gathering in Governor House Punjab.

He said that our volunteers during rains and endemic served all and sundry without any discrimination and even they provided help to members of minorities.

Later shields, certificates and awards were given to volunteers besides an industrialist, Rashid, Imran Ali of Bahadur Yar Jang Society, Taufeeq Mohiuddin, Shahid Ayub, Maqsood Soomro, JI leader Junaid Mukati, Inam of Youth Intelligentsia, President JI Youth, Hashim Abdali, Ali Mohsin a visitor from Canada, Muhammad Asghar on behalf of Naveeda Anis of Alkhidmat Women Wing Trust and Aniyatullah Ismail on behalf of Munawwar Akhlas received shields while Zain Siddiqui of Alkhidmat Karachi were also given shields in recognition to their social welfare work.
