In occupied Kashmir, the ailing Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi along with party General Secretary Nahida Nasreen, Press Secretary, Fehmeeda Sofi and two other DeM activists was shifted to Central jail Srinagar on judicial remand.

DeM spokesperson Rifat Fatima in a statement in Srinagar said, “Aasiya and others were taken to Islamabad district for court hearing. The court remanded them to Central Jail, Srinagar, on judicial remand.”

She said Aasiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi were sent to remand under a fake case filed against them by Soura Police Station in which they had been granted bail twice.

“Today’s hearing was regarding a fresh FIR lodged by Islamabad police,” she said.

Aasiya Andrabi and her aides were arrested by the Indian police in Islamabad town on April 20, 2018.

The DeM spokesperson said Aasiya Andrabi’s health is deteriorating and she needs immediate medical check-up.
