CJP forms larger bench, Shariat Appallete bench, five regular benches for next week

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Anwar Zaheer Jamali has constituted a larger bench, two Shariat Appallete benches and five regular benches at the principal seat to hear a  number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday, June 20.

The five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and Justice Faisal Arab would heard the cases against death sentences awarded by Military Courts, Misc. Appeal Against the order of the Registrar against the Removal from the Services as Chairman of Federal Service Tribunal, service laws matters and land acquisition and requisition matters.

The Shariat Appallete bench would consist of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Tariq Pervaiz and Justice Dr. Muhammad Khalid Masood HM-II.

The first bench comprising Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Faisal Arab would hear important cases including Election Matter of NA-110, illegal promotions, personal up-gradaiton, re-designation of official/officers of CDA, different contempt of court cases, Miscelleneous Matters regarding Jail roll of the convict Umar Farooq, sent by the Superintendent, Central Prison,

Peshawar in complaince of the order dated 10.05.2016, suo-moto action regarding Federal Ombudsperson’s contempt notice to Judge of Lahore High Court and suo-moto action regarding cutting of trees from Margallah hills and Lora (KPK) by the stone crushing mafia.

The second bench consists of Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Qazi Faez Isa while the third bench comprised of  Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Sardar Masood and Justice Faisal Arab.

The fourth bench comprised of Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan.  According to case lists, no adjournment  on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court. Furthermore, if the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.
