ETPB seals Sheikh Rashid’s residence Lal Haveli

RAWALPINDI: The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) have sealed Lal Haveli, former home minister Sheikh Rasheed’s residence.

ETPB Deputy Administrator Asif Khan along with FIA and heavy police force reached Lal Haveli and sealed 7 land units including 2 units of Sheikh Rasheed’s residence Lal Haveli.

It should be noted that a notice was issued to Sheikh Rashid to vacate Lal Haveli on behalf of the ETPB, after which Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid challenged the action against Lal Haveli on behalf of the ETPB.

Sheikh Rasheed, in his petition filed in Rawalpindi Civil Judge Naveed Akhtar’s court, stated that the Lal Haveli and adjoining land case is still under hearing, the eviction notice and proceedings from Lal Haveli are illegal.

On the other hand, Deputy Administrator Asif Khan said that the ETPB is going to seal Lal Haveli. Seven land units including Lal Haveli are the property of ETPB. FIA and police to take possession of Lal Haveli.

Asif Khan said that Sheikh Rasheed and his brother Lal could not present any documents related to the mansion.

ETPB Deputy Administrator Asif Khan also wrote a letter to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi.

Earlier, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is the biggest obstacle in the elections.
