ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Athar Minallah while hearing a petition against the decision of the PTI in a prohibited funding case within 30 days, remarked that no political party should complain about the proceedings of the Election Commission. We did not stop them from working.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition against the decision of PTI in the prohibited funding case within 30 days.

A written report was submitted to the court by the Election Commission, after which the Chief Justice asked the lawyer of the Commission to state why the case has been pending for 8 years. This is the process of every year, it should be the same year, why has it been going on for 8 years? Does every political party submit its audit account every year according to the law? Does the Election Commission scrutinize every year?

“We scrutinize the objectionable accounts,” the ECP director of law told the court.

On this, the court said that if any political party holds a meeting, the details of its expenses also have to be given. It seems that the Election Commission is not scrutinizing the audit of political parties on an annual basis. And if the accounts of any political party were objectionable then you would only respond to them. If there were any objectionable accounts then you would give notice to the political party.
