Islamabad: Two special assistants to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Dr. Zafar Mirza and Tania Aidrus resigned here on Wednesday.
First Special Assistant for Digital Pakistan Tania Aidros resigned and later Special Assistant for Health Dr. Zafar Mirza also resigned.
Tania sent her resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan in which it is said that she resigned from the post in the public interest. I came to Pakistan with the spirit of service but a lot was said about my Canadian citizenship.
“I was born in Canada and it was not my wish to be born there. I will be here whenever Pakistan needs me,” she said.
Later, Dr Zafar Mirza also submitted his resignation in which he said that he resigned due to constant criticism on the role of special assistant, he is happy that he resigned at a time when the number of cases has decreased in the country.
