5.5 magnitude earthquake shakes Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A 5.5 Magnitude earthquake jolted Pakistan’s capital city Islamabad early Saturday morning.

Residents of the Pakistani capital reported buildings and vehicles shaking after the quake hit at 1:59 am local time (2059 GMT).

According to the Met Office, the earthquake was of 5.5 magnitude and its epicenter was 23 Kilometers North East of Islamabad.

 The US Geological Survey (USGS) says the quake was of magnitude 5.1.

Minor jolts were felt a 02:30 PST and 03:01 PST, the PMD says that the tremors were of 2.5 and 2.9 magnitude respectively.

No loss of life or property is reported as yet.
