Rangers deployed in Punjab for two months: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has announced to deploy Rangers in Punjab for two months.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Sheikh Rashid said that the French ambassador was not present in Pakistan and the TLP’s agenda was something else.

He said that like Karachi, I am deploying Rangers all over Punjab and the paramilitary force will be in the province for two months.

Rasheed said that Rangers have been called in the province under Article 147 and the Punjab government will have the power to use Rangers wherever it wants while the powers of the Anti-Terrorism Act are also being given to the Punjab government.
