Would have announced public holiday today, if I were authorised: Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that he would had announced a public holiday today if he were authorised to do so on Pakistan’s historic win against India in the T20 World Cup match.

Addressing a news conference here on Monday, Rasheed congratulated the entire nation on Pakistan’s win.

He said that in the past 74 years Pakistan had not got a bigger victory than the yesterday’s.

Yesterday was not a normal cricket, it was a special occasion, he said.

The minister lauded the performance of the entire especially Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi.

Rasheed said that after losing the match to Pakistan, Indian citizens threw stones at the houses of their players.
