US state secretary won’t undergo body scanning at Islamabad airport


ISLAMABAD: US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman and her delegation would not undergo the body scanning and Covid rapid antigen test upon their arrival tonight at the Islamabad airport.

The US delegation is scheduled to arrive here tonight on a two—day visit.

The Pakistan government has exempted the seven-member US delegation from the body scanning and Covid testing.

The foreign affairs ministry has instructed the chief security officer of the Airports Security Force (ASF), aviation division and the airport manager to ensure preparations for the arrival of the US delegation led by Secretary of State Wendy Sherman in Islamabad.

They has been directed to ensure access of the visiting US delegation to the VIP state lounge, China Gate, at airport both during its arrival and departure.
