KARACHI: Cyclone Gulab is posing no threat to Pakistani coastal areas, including Karachi.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) third alert on Tropical Cyclone Gulab in the Bay of Bengal, the storm is currently at a distance of about 2200km from the port city.
It added that Gulab over west-central Bay of Bengal moved westward during the past 12 hours. It now lies centred around latitude 18.3N and longitude 87.2E, the alert further said.
PMD said that the system is likely to keep moving cross North Andhra Pradesh-Orissa coast and westward.
It further said that there is no threat from Cyclone Gulab to any coastal area of the country.
