Cyclone: 127 missing as ship sinks near Mumbai coast


MUMBAI: An Indian ship sank in bad weather in the Arabian Sea off the Mumbai coast after the Cyclone Tauktae hit the coastal city.

According to Indian media, 127 people had gone missing due to the sinking of the ship. The typhoon hit the Indian city of Gujarat last night.

The Indian Navy had sent two ships to rescue hundreds of people stranded along the coast.

The storm hit the coast at a speed of 160 km per hour, after which its intensity decreased. Gujarat gets heavy rains due to cyclone.

The storm resulted in heavy rains with strong winds in many parts of India.
