SHC disposes off plea after police’s assurance of keeping all roads opened during PSL matches

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday disposed off a contempt plea following the police’s assurance of keeping all the roads opened during the Pakistan Super League matches in the city.

The SHC heard the contempt application regarding blocking of roads during the PSL matches and Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon and others appeared before the court.

The additional IG and DIG traffic submitted a report to the SHC to which the court inquired: “What will you say about the roads”.

The additional IG told the court that all the city roads are opened as containers have been removed. Only a road leading from Civic Centre to Karsaz have partially been closed. However, traffic is allowed to move on the road in case of emergency, he added.

The court directed to deploy police at the points where traffic jams are taking place.
