KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday awarded death sentence to Rehman Bhola and Zubair Churya in the Baldia Town factory fire case.
The court acquitted four accused including MQM-P leader Rauf Siddiqui, Adeeb Khannum, Ali Hassan Qadri and Abdul Sattar over lack of evidence.
The factory in Bladia Town was set on fire in 2012, in which over 262 people burnt alive.
The court in its order ruled that the fire did not break out on its own but the factory was deliberately set on fire using explosive chemicals.
Rehman Bhola and Zubair Charya was arrested with the help of Interpol from Thailand and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
