No one except Army came to rescue flood-affectees of Kachho: Haleem Sheikh


Dadu: No one came to save the flood-hit people of Kachho, Dadu except the brave Pakistan Army, said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Vice President and parliamentary party leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh on Sunday.

According to details, Haleem Adil Sheikh reached Johi area of district Kachho and visited the villages flooded due to swelling of Nai Gaj and met the affected families.

PTI leaders Sardar Hakim Ali Noohani, Rajib Shahani, Sardar Ashiq Zaunr, Murtaza Shah Jilani, Ameenullah Moosakhel, Ali Mirjat, Muhammad Ali Shah and Ghulam Haider Siyal accompanied him.

Talking to media, Haleem Adil Sheikh said that torrential rainwater coming from Khirthar mountains of Balochistan goes to the Manchaar Lake through Nai Gaj.

He said due to breaches in Nai Gaj at several places many villages are flooded.

He said the inept rulers of Sindh had no idea about the intensity of rains and resulting flood.

He said so far more than 200 villages have already submerged in flood water but no department of Sindh government came here for rescue work.

He said that the affected villagers have climbed to trees to save their lives. They are crying for help and it is being shown by the media and social media but the administration so far has not come to rescue them.

The PTI leader said this is the constituency of Sindh chief minister Murad Ali Shah, who has left his voters helpless.

He said we salute the brave army whose teams have already reached here yesterday and started shifting marooned villagers to safer places.

He said the army is also distributing eatables amongst the affected villagers. He appealed to social organizations and philanthropists to come for rescue of the affected people.

He said villagers are trying to plug the breaches in FP Embankment on self-help basis. He said the PMDA and other departments should have reached here earlier. He said that only Pakistan Army and Edhi volunteers have reached in this area.

Sheikh said the Sindh government has got resources but it is not ready to assist the people.
