CEO admits K-Electric failed to end loadshedding

Karachi:The K-Electric on Wednesday admitted carrying out loadshedding in the city.

Addressing a presser, KE CEO Moonis Alvi while admitting carrying out loadshedding in Karachi said that the power company had resorted to outages even in the exempted areas.

He said that the federal and the provincial governments owed Rs237 billions to the K-Electric.

The CEO said that currently loadshedding was also being carried out in the areas which were earlier exempted from outages.

Situation will hopefully get better in the coming 10 to 12 days when the temperature come down, Alvi added.

The CEO said:” We are supplying 3200MW while the city’s demand is 3500 mega watts.”

He voiced hope that the situation would be brought under control soon as the power company is working with the government.
