Karachi: Pakistan has become the world’s fifth most populous country.
A German media report citing the United Nations said that the Pakistan’s population had reached 220.1 million on July 11, 2020.
After this development, the country has become the world’s fifth most populous state after China, India, the US and Indonesia.
Earlier, Brazil was the fifth most populous country in the world.
According to the UN, Pakistan’s population has increased by six times between July 1950 and July 2020.
Currently, the country’s annual birth rate stands at 2.8 per cent.
