JI set to hold massive sit-in against K-Electric on Shahrea Faisal today

KARACHI: The Jamaat-e-Islami will stage a massive sit-in against the K-Electric’s unannounced loadshedding, over-billing and increase in tariff today at Shahrea Faisal, Nursery, at 4pm.

This was announced by JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while addressing a press conference at the party’s headquarters Idara Noor-e-Haq here on Saturday.

About the Nepra chairman’s question that why he did not participate in the public hearing of loadshedding complaints, Hafiz Naeem responded that JI representative Imran Shahid was constantly in touch with the Nepra officials but he was not allowed to join the hearing.

“I was also present in my office to join the online hearing but was not provided the link by the Nepra officials,” he added. The Nepra chairman should look into the matter why his subordinates did not provide the link. Why Jamaat-e-Islami was barred from participating in the hearing?

The JI leader said that we would submit public complaints and KE’s atrocities in writing with the Nepra. We will expose the K-Electric bringing facts to limelight in today’s sit-in.

The planned sit-in against the K-Electric will be held today at all costs on Shahrea Faisal, he added.
