Karachi: Sindh Minister for Industries & Commerce and Anti-Corruption & Cooperative Department Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has said that even during the second year of PTI government, flour, sugar, milk, ghee, tea leaves and other daily necessities have seen a huge increase in the prices, which has made the life of the common man extremely difficult.
He said, in a statement issued here on Monday, that according to the report of the Federal Bureau of Statistics, between July 2019 and July 2020, a 20 kg bag of flour became expensive by Rs. 204, and beside flour the prices of daily use items were going up and up day by day, which is a proof that the PTI government has completely failed to provide relief to the common man.
Dharejo said that instead of giving one crore jobs, the federal government had eliminate more than one lakh jobs from grade one to grade 16 which was an injustice to educated unemployed youth. He further said that on the one hand government jobs were being lost and on the other hand industries were being destroyed by load shedding of gas and electricity which was creating a storm of unemployment.
He called on the federal government to end inflation so that the poor could breathe a sigh of relief and create new employment opportunities to engage the younger generation in positive activities.
He said that the Sindh government was developing industrial zones according to its resources to eliminate unemployment from Sindh.
