Another dust storm likely to lash Karachi today: Met Office


KARACHI: The Met Office on Thursday forecast that another dust storm is likely to lash Karachi again today.

A local TV reported that the authorities have issued an alert for police and Rangers after the forecast for dust storm.

On Wednesday, a massive dust storm had lashed the entire city, killing at least six people including a woman and injuring 18 in different incidents.

According to the Met Office, western winds had passed through the country.

Thunderstorm cells had developed in the southern parts of Karachi, it added.

The Met Office further said that the dust carrying winds were blowing at a speed of 54-74 kilometers per hour in the city.

It added that the storm would last for at least one hour in the city.

Electricity supply went off in several parts of the city as soon as the storm started.
