The Chief Justice of Pakistan is turned out to be a fond of kachori, a spicy deep fried snack.

CJP Qazi Faiz Isa is fond of Karachi food as he revealed this while addressing a luncheon hosted by the Supreme Court Bar Association the other day in port city.

Recalling his past memories in the metropolis, Qazi Faiz Isa said that he still remember the taste of Karachi food.

Kachori was available at time for only one rupee, he told gathering.

Kachori is spicy deep-fried snack, which is originated in India. It is common in places with Indian diaspora and other South Asian diaspora. Golden brown crispy Kachoris are puffed dough pastries that are filled with vegetables, lentils, chicken or beef. Kachoris are served with a special curry and carrot pickles.

An early known recipe similar to kachori comes from Susruta Samhita that mentions deep-fried pastry prepared from flour, jaggery and ghee and stuffed with spiced mung dal or minced meat.

There are several points famous for delicious kachori in Karachi. One such place – Sadiq Kachori House- is located in city’s Delhi Mercantile Society area. The price for a single piece of the snack is Rs25. Another famous point – Shahid Kachori- is near passport office in Saddar while third one by name of Haji Noor Kachori situated in City Court neighbuorhood.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while addressing the Karachi businessmen said that investors from Saudi Arabia are coming to Pakistan and you (traders) should offer them Nihari, Kabab and increase business among themselves.
