Section 144 imposed, Rangers called in ahead of PTI rally in Lahore

LAHORE: After Imran Khan’s announcement to take out a rally today, the Punjab government has called the Rangers by imposing Section 144 in Lahore and the rallies will be banned.

Caretaker Information Minister Aamir Mir has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief has once again announced a rally on an important day when a PSL match and a 40-km marathon and a cycle race is being held in Lahore.

Amir Mir said that Section 144 is being imposed to avoid any untoward incident. The administration held talks with the PTI and told them to move the date of the rally forward.

According to sources, Rangers have also been called by the Punjab government to deal with any untoward incident.

Sources say that due to Section 144 this morning, rangers will be deployed at Zaman Park and other important places.
