It should be noted that on February 5, former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf died in Dubai. He was undergoing treatment at the American Hospital in Dubai for a long time.
Last night, a special plane carrying the dead body of former President Pervez Musharraf arrived in Karachi from Dubai. The wife, daughter and sons of Pervez Musharraf also arrived in Karachi by the special plane.
Arrangements for the burial of Pervez Musharraf in the military cemetery have been completed, security personnel have been deployed around the military cemetery.
Earlier, former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf Sunday passed away in a Dubai hospital at the age of 79, a local TV reported citing diplomatic sources.
The former military ruler had been undergoing treatment for an ailment at an American Hospital Dubai.
Pervez Musharraf was born on August 11, 1943, in Delhi. He completed his early education at Karachi’s St Patrick’s High School.
The former president and COAS received higher education at Lahore’s Forman Christian College.
Musharraf was elevated to the rank of general in 1998 and he took over as the chief of army staff (COAS).
