ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has rejected Sindh Police plea to transfer Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed from Islamabad to Karachi.

Earlier, former minister Sheikh Rasheed filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court to stop his transfer from Islamabad to Karachi, in which the Interior Secretary along with the IGs of Islamabad, Sindh and Punjab have also been made parties.

In the petition filed by his lawyer Sardar Abdul Raziq Khan, Sheikh Rasheed has requested to stop the extradition in Karachi and Murree cases.

It has been argued that Imran Khan accused Asif Zardari of murder which I have referred to, the plaintiff is not the injured party in the cases.

In the petition, it has been requested that more cases should be stopped on the basis of political rhetoric, while the cases of Abpara, Murree and Karachi should be declared illegal and nullified.

In the petition, it is further requested that the Karachi case be declared as extrajudicial or transferred to Islamabad and the transfer to Karachi be prevented until the final decision of the case.
