LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that maybe some members of our party are of the opinion that the provincial assemblies should not be dissolved, but when the decision is made, they will all resign.

Speaking to the media, Fawad Chaudhry said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf wants elections before March 20. Maybe some members of our party are of the opinion that the provincial assemblies should not be dissolved, but when the decision is made, they will all resign.

On meeting the American ambassador, he said that the ambassadors of the US and other countries are in contact. The ambassadors want to understand the point of view of the political parties, he said.

Earlier, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chauhdry Tuesday met US Ambassador Donald Blome at the US embassy in Islamabad, sources said.

Country’s prevailing political situation was discussed in detail in an hour-long meeting, the sources said.

On Monday, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry has said that the party’s leadership had approved dissolution of both Punjab and Khyber Pakhtukhwa assemblies.

He added that as you all know, PTI is quitting the assemblies. He said, therefore, the party’s senior leadership has approved the decision to dissolve the assemblies.

Fawad said that Imran Khan has spoken to KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. He would would hold a meeting with Punjab CM Elahi later this week.

“The meetings of the parliamentary parties of both the assemblies have been summoned for later this week, following which, the assemblies will be dissolved,” he said speaking to journalists.

Fawad further said added that the PTI would announce the date of the Punjab and KP assemblies’ dissolution in the next two to three days.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has said that he will not wait even for a minute to dissolve the assembly.

This was Fawad’s second meeting with the US diplomat Blome this month. After the first meeting, the PTI leader initially denied holding a such meeting but later admitted to meeting Donald Blome.
