ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has sought an explanation from PTI Chairman Imran Khan on the events of May 25.

In the Supreme Court, a 5-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial heard the contempt petition against Imran Khan, in which President Supreme Court Bar Ahsan Bhawan and Additional Attorney General appeared in the court.

At the beginning of the hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan said that the court did not take notices, only asked for answers and will review the answers later. First listen to the government lawyer’s position.

Additional Attorney General Aamir Rehman told the court that Imran Khan has asked for time for a detailed answer as he has shown ignorance of any assurance. Imran Khan has also expressed ignorance of the court order in his reply.

The Attorney General of Pakistan said that assurances were given by Imran Khan. According to Faisal Chaudhry he took instructions from Asad Umar. Faisal Chaudhry said he could not get in touch with Imran Khan while according to Babra Awan Imran Khan’s name was not mentioned by anyone.

The Chief Justice asked that how long is the difference between the first and second court orders on May 25? On this, the Additional Attorney General said that the first order was given at 11 am and the second at 6 pm. To which, the Chief Justice said that the time between the two orders was for taking instructions. The court was not told from whom the instructions were taken. Yes, if no one was spoken to, why was the court not told? This needs to be explained, the Chief Justice observed.

Earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan in the Cipher Audio Leak Inquiry and Foreign Funding Case.

FIA has issued a notice to Imran Khan to appear in the Cipher  Inquiry and he has been directed to appear before the FIA ​​on November 3 at 12 noon.

FIA has also summoned former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on November 3 at 12, besides Asad Umar has also been summoned on November 2 at 12.

The FIA has also summoned Imran Khan to FIA Lahore on November 7 in the foreign funding case.

It should be noted that the march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf towards the federal capital Islamabad is also going on, which is being led by former prime minister Imran Khan.
