ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Monday allowed ex-Wapda distribution companies (discos) to charge their consumers an additional fuel cost of Rs7.90 per unit as fuel charges adjustment for May.
According to a notification issued in this regard, the increase will be applicable to all consumer categories except for lifeline and K-Electric consumers.
It added that the fuel charge adjustment would be shown separately in the consumers’ bills on the basis of units billed to them in May and the charges would be reflected in the bill for July.
The Rs7.90 increase will put a burden of around Rs131.8 billion on consumers, including GST. However, it is worth mentioning that a final notification in this regard will be issued later by the regulatory authority.
